Strengthening Cambodia-China Tourism Ties: MOU Signing in Yunnan
On 26 August 2025, Lok Chumteav Chhay Sivlin, President of the Cambodia Tourism Association (CATA), led an important milestone in Cambodia-China tourism cooperation during an official visit to Yunnan, China. The highlight of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between CATA, the Yunnan Tourism Association, and Yunnan Jiatou Airlines, aimed at fostering stronger collaboration and promoting sustainable tourism between the two regions.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, and Mr. Ma Zhigang, Head of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, reflecting the high-level commitment from both sides to enhance cultural and tourism exchanges.
This partnership seeks to open new avenues for Cambodian and Chinese travelers, streamline travel experiences, and facilitate joint tourism promotions. Through such collaborations, CATA continues to drive Cambodia’s tourism industry forward, connecting it with key international partners and ensuring long-term growth.
The MOU signing in Kunming not only marks a significant step in bilateral tourism relations but also strengthens the bond between Cambodia and China, opening doors for future initiatives that highlight both countries’ rich cultural heritage and natural attractions.
