Evening: Phnom Penh City Orientation by Remork (Tuk Tuk) – Begin your Phnom Penh orientation with an engaging and informative Remork (tuk-tuk) ride around the city. Pass by key landmarks such as the Independence Monument, commemorating Cambodia’s independence in 1953, the Royal Statue of King Father Norodom Sihanouk, and the bustling riverside area, immersing yourself in the city’s vibrant atmosphere. This morning, take a poignant genocide tour, exploring Cambodia’s tragic past with visits to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former school turned Khmer Rouge torture center, and the haunting killing fields of Choeung Ek, where thousands were executed.
In the afternoon, visit the stunning Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, where you’ll be amazed by the floor, made up of over 5,000 silver tiles, each weighing around two pounds, and the remarkable collection of golden Buddhas. Continue to Wat Phnom, the spiritual site after which the capital is named and a popular place of worship.

Finally, unwind on a traditional wooden boat as you cruise along the majestic Mekong River—Chaktomuk, where the Upper Mekong, Lower Mekong, Bassac, and Tonle Sap rivers meet. Take in the breathtaking sunset over Phnom Penh’s skyline, the Royal Palace, and the lively riverfront, experiencing the city’s charm at dusk.

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on an overland journey to Siem Reap (315 km, 5-6 hours), the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Angkor Archaeological Park.
Along the way, you’ll make a few stops to explore the Cambodian countryside. Make a first stop at Skun “the Spider Village”, where fried tarantulas vending as a snack. This place is a popular attraction for tourists passing through. It’s good for photo taking, testing is not compulsory. Next, explore Santuk Silk Farm to learn about Cambodia’s silk-making process and its impact on local communities, followed by a traditional Khmer lunch.
You also stop at the Kampong Kdei Bridge, built in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, an 80-meter-long Angkorian bridge with naga balustrades. Once part of a royal highway, it remains a notable example of ancient Khmer engineering and architecture. Along the way, be sure to try Khmer Bamboo Sticky Rice, a local specialty where glutinous rice mixed with coconut milk and other ingredients is cooked in bamboo tubes over an open flame, imparting a distinctive flavor and aroma. Upon arrival at Siem Reap, proceed to check in at your hotel and relax.

Today, enjoy a full day of sightseeing around Angkor’s ancient wonders, one of Asia’s most magnificent archaeological ruins.
Rise early to catch the spectacular sunrise over the world’s largest religious ruins of Angkor Wat and discover this mighty temple at dawn, regarded by many as the quintessential Angkor experience. The temple’s greatest sculptural treasure is its 1-mile-long bas-relief that wraps around the walls of the outer gallery along with the 2000 figures of Khmer Devas and Apsaras. After exploring the ruins in detail led by your professional tour guide, return to the hotel for breakfast and some rest before continuing the day’s tour.
Afterward, continue your Angkor adventure at the fortified city of Angkor Thom, constructed in the 10th century by the renowned Khmer ruler King Jayavarman VII (1181-1201). Stop for photos at the majestic southern gateway of Angkor Thom, and continue to the awe-inspiring Bayon Temple, celebrated for its unique blend of artistry and spirituality. The temple’s third level is particularly striking, featuring 49 towers adorned with 172 serene, smiling faces of Avalokitesvara, symbolizing compassion and watchfulness. Next, explore the nearby Baphuon and the Terraces of the Elephant and the Leper King to admire their intricate stone carvings. After the lunch break, explore the intricately carved Banteay Srei Temple, known as the “Citadel of Women” for its pink sandstone and delicate details. It’s one of the most beautiful temples in the Angkor complex. Return to Angkor and discover the iconic Ta Prohm temple, famously featured in the movie Tomb Raider. This temple is left in much of its natural state, with giant tree roots growing over the ancient ruins, creating an evocative and photogenic atmosphere. Cap off the day with a serene countryside sunset, enjoying light refreshments such as fresh coconut, soft drinks, and local beer.

Immerse yourself in the tranquil lake ambiance and picturesque surroundings. Following this, join a 1-hour River Monster lecture tour to gain insights into Tonlé Sap Lake’s unique aquatic ecosystem, guided by a marine biologist. Unless otherwise agreed, final payment is due as per the invoice no later than 30 days before arrival. For bookings made less than 30 days before arrival, payment must be made upon receipt of the invoice. We request timely payment, and it must be received by the date specified on the invoice.

The best time to travel to Cambodia is during the cooler dry season from November to February (moderate temperatures 20°C to 30°C). March to May are dry but hot (up to 40°C).
