Depart around 7:30 am for a scenic 2.5-hour drive, covering 130 km from Siem Reap to this relatively hidden gem.
Koh Ker, which served as the capital of the Khmer Empire during the 10th century, offers a serene and less crowded environment for exploration. Upon arrival, you’ll encounter Prasat Thom, the centerpiece of the site. This majestic 30-meter temple mound, with its seven-tiered pyramid structure, is dedicated to Hindu deities. Wander through the sprawling complex at your own pace, discovering various tower sanctuaries scattered throughout the site. As you explore, you’ll be struck by the large stone Lingas dedicated to Shiva.
